Chocolate Ganache Hearts

Chocolate Ganache Hearts

Ingredients
For the Chocolate Cake:
  1. 1/2 cup or 1 stick unsalted butter
  2. 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons dutch-processed cocoa
  5. 1 cup hot (boiled) water
  6. 1 cup + 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  7. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  8. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  9. 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Ganache:
  1. 10.6 ounces dark chocolate 60-65% cocoa, chopped into small pieces
  2. 2/3 cup heavy cream
  3. 1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup
For Decoration:
  1. Sprinkles of your choice
Instructions
Make the Chocolate Cake:
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Line the bottom and sides of an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper. Let the parchment paper hang on 2 opposite sides of the pan so you can easily lift the cake out of the pan later on.
  • Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk.
